Lazlar Lyricon 3 will be a fun convention running on 9th-11th June 2017 for fans of Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy (H2G2). The convention will take place at the Quality Hotel in Stoke-on-Trent (Staffordshire, England). The convention will kick off at 6pm on Friday and run through to 4pm on Sunday. More than 100 persons are already registered !

The convention is organized by fans for the fans (with the support of ZZ9 Plural Z Alpha, the official Hitchhiker appreciation society). It should be quite an interesting event with some noticeable guests and attendees : David Learner (an actor who played a number of roles including Marvin in the Theatr Clwyd touring version and Marvin in the Rainbow Theatre production), Kevin Jon Davies who has a well know life long involvement in H2G2 (he was involved in the Rainbow Theatre Production, worked on the sequences for the guide graphics bits for the BBC TV series (he also directed the making of), was the art director of the Illustrated Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy,…), actor Michael Cule (who played H2G2 on stage, in the tv series or the later radio episodes), Sue Adams (Douglas’s sister who participated to setting up the series of Memorial Lectures).

In the attendees, you can spot some famous Hitchhiker fans : Jem Roberts (author of Douglas’ third & last biography), MJ Simpson (author of Doulgas’ first biography), Dr Emma J King (physicist and science presenter who works for the Royal Institution Science in Schools), Elaine Jackson (author of ‘The Journey & Other Short Stories’ (‘science fiction stories with a twist’) and ‘The Methuselah Paradox’),…

According to the organizers, “The weekend will be full of Hichhiker’s-related fun for fans of any/all forms of the Guide. Some will be directly related to Hitchhiker’s, some will be tangentially related, and some will be stuff we think Hitchhiker’s fans will enjoy”.
